LINK BACK TO LOOSE LEAF BINDERS BINDER DEFINITIONS RING TYPES Round rings are circular and the most common ring used. D rings are shaped like a backward "D". The flat edge holds the binder contents. The D ring allows the sheets to lie flat in the binder along the straight edge. Angle D ring is the same as a D ring except the straight edge is angled so the ring is wider at the base of the ring than at the top. This ring is especially good for larger capacity binders. Tuffy rings are plastic rings. The end of the ring snaps into the base. This type of ring is used for low paper volume (1/2", 3/4" or 1") capacity. It's mostly used with poly binders. RING SIZE The ring size of a loose leaf
binder is determined by the capacity of the ring, not the width of the binder spine.
To determine the ring size of a round/tuffy ring, measure the inside diameter.
For a D ring and Angle D ring, measure the length of the straight or angled edge. SHEET CAPACITY RING DIMENSION SHEET CAPACITY (20lb.BOND)
